Threshold Ceremonies
We cross many thresholds in our lifetime and sometimes only the obvious ones like births, marriages and deaths are acknowledged. Honoured or celebrated.
I offer two threshold ceremonies for women that really honour who you were, who you are and who you are becoming.
Sovereignty Ceremony
This ceremony is to honour and celebrate a woman who is crossing the threshold of marriage, if you want something that is a more soulful alternative to a hen night.
To be Sovereign is to stand in your power, knowing your own worth and walking the path of your choosing.
The ceremony honours and empowers you to claim all the parts of yourself, so you are ready to bring your whole magnificent self into the marriage.standing strong and being the best version of yourself.
You will be surrounded by and held in love by your dearest friends as they offer you their continued love and support on the next stage of your journey, with an understanding that committing to a life partner is a profoundly sacred act.
You will be nurtured and nourished through beautiful sacred rituals that are intentionally designed to honour your rite of passage, which will include a “Saying I do to You” ceremony.
Sitting in Circle with your friends is a meaningful alternative to a Hen Party. An enriching and nurturing experience preparing you for your wedding day and your new future with your husband or wife.
Mother Blessing
One of the biggest transitions in a women’s life is that of the miracle of pregnancy and birth, growing another human being inside you is a privilege that is definitely worth celebrating.
Our society tends to focus on the birth of the baby, celebrating with baby showers or christenings or naming ceremonies when the baby is born.
But what of the mother? She who has grown, nurtured and birthed that baby? Whose life has been irrevocably changed by crossing this threshold from Maid (young woman) to Mother? Where is the ceremony to celebrate and prepare her?
A Mother Blessing is an opportunity for the mum-to-be to gather with her closest friends, as they celebrate her and the threshold she is crossing; hold her in a circle of love; support her to release any fears or anxieties around the birth and motherhood; gift her with positivity and connection for the coming birth; and pamper and nourish her in mind, body and soul.
The ceremony can include: taking a plaster cast of the bump; painting the belly with henna or body paints; pampering and nurturing the woman with hand, feet and head massages; creating a beautiful crown of flowers; gifting and making a necklace with beads brought by the friends and presented with loving words; singing songs; a red thread ceremony and more. All held in a sacred space filled with love and connection.

This is just two examples of the ceremonies that you can create.
Ceremonies can be held to celebrate, acknowledge, bless, renew, reflect, release, re-claim, re-member, re-wild, thank, set intentions…..they are limited only by your imagination!
